AppointmentsYou may consult any of the doctors but they do prefer to look after their
own registered patients wherever possible. However in an emergency you
must be prepared to see whichever doctor is available.
Extended Access The surgery is open 0830 to 1845 Monday to Friday. We are now opening on Saturday mornings from 0800 to 1030 and until 1830 to 2000 on alternate Tuesdays and Wednesdays as part of Extended Access. These extra surgeries will be for booked appointments only. Do not turn up without an appointment for these extra surgeries it is extremely unlikely that it will be possible for you to be seen. We will try to reserve these appointments for people who would otherwise have difficulty getting to the surgery during normal opening hours and would ask for your cooperation in this matter.
5 Minute AppointmentsThere will be a block of 5 minute appointments kept free for that day on each Monday morning. These appointments are for any single problem that can be dealt with in five minutes, examples could be:
The appointments will not be allowed to overrun. Only one problem will be dealt with. This surgery will run alternately by Drs High, Kouloumas & Parkinson. Home VisitsIf it is impossible to come to the surgery and you require a home visit
please telephone the practice before 10.30am. You may be put through to
one of the doctors to assess whether a home visit is appropriate. He/She
will also be able to judge whether your problem is an emergency, which
requires more urgent attention or can wait until the end of surgery.
Out of HoursThe doctors at Park Lodge belong to BARNDOC (Barnet Doctors On Call). This is a group of local GPs who take it in turn to provide emergency care from a Primary Care centre located in several local hospitals including Chase Farm Hospital and North Middlesex Hospital. If you need advice outside of surgery hours please phone BARNDOC on 0845 389 0945. You will be put through to a nurse who will either ask you to come to one of the call-centres or give you other appropriate advice. The call-centres are open until 11pm. After this time until 8am there is a visiting service for serious emergencies. Please note this is a different service from the walk in centre at North Middlesex Hospital.
In a life-threatening emergency it is usually more appropriate to phone 999. |
